Let’s Fall in Love! was a limited edition of beers produced by Tasteroom for Izakaya Chunqing, a Japanese style bistro located in Beijing.
The brief was to illustrate a Chinese word that reflects the purity of romance/youth/idealism. By then I was reading The Baron in The Trees by Calvino and I thought the spirit in the book really strike a chord with it. Then I drew a boy on a tree who seemed like endlessly looking for something. But then that might be abstract for the audience, so I sort of expanded the narrative into a scene separated onto two beer labels, depicting a romance at the first sight.
